10 Things To Buy This Autumn

10 Things To Buy This Autumn

Untitled #4

I'm a frequent online peruse-r (aren't we all?!) and recently I've stumbled across a boat-load of bits and pieces that have caught my eye and made there way into my shopping carts. Sadly, I've not got as far as checking out with all of these items thanks to having to spend a good proportion of this months pay check on car repairs. Oh, those silly grown up responsibilities really do get in the way of my shopaholic tendencies!

I'm a tad late to the party but I've suddenly got my eye on some super cute copper/metal home-ware pieces - a chalkboard and copper globe is a must have of course!, plus everyone is still obsessed with pineapples right? I feel an update to my room brewing in the works!

Winter fashion is upon us and some new bits and pieces are begging to be added to my wardrobe - a new winter coat, a matching scarf obvs, some new boots (I'm not sure why I've become infatuate with these blue suede boots but I'm all of the heart-eyed emojis over them) and what season is complete without a new handbag? The Rebecca Minkoff side zip mini MAB tote is just enough of a nod to the Celine luggage tote to keep me satisfied without the hefty price tag which has my bank account breathing a sigh of relief - plus when it's in a stunning oxblood colour it couldn't be much more perfect for autumn/winter!

Earlier on in the year when Space.NK first dipped into the world of Beauty Boxes I managed to snag one of the Space.NK Beauty Box: The Second Edition (check out my first impressions of it {here}) and absolutely loved how it allowed me to try out loads of high-end beauty products without committing to paying for the full size products! I knew I wanted to get my hands on the next installment of their Beauty Box so I eagerly opened their emails as soon as they hit my inbox since May (well it definitely doesn't feel like it was that long ago!) trying to patiently wait until the second Beauty Box was released!

I was on clinic (again, luckily!) and was checking my emails on my break when that epic email dropped into my notifications - once again I was super quick in heading over to the Space.NK site (well as fast as super slow internet allowed - how I wished we had 4G!) and checked out with one of the elusive Beauty Box: Skin Care Edition in my basket! I didn't even look at the contents of the box - I knew I'd love it either way!

As always delivery was super speedy and packaging was great from the lovely people at Space.NK

Again, Ma and I eagerly ripped open the box and pawed over the skincare samples - the contents of this box (seeing as we are both high-end skincare junkies!) had us very excited - we were stealing things out of each other's hands in our haste!

So onto the contents of the latest Beauty Box offering from Space.NK:
  • ALGENIST: genius ultimate anti-aging eye cream - 5ml (RRP £58 for 15ml)
  • BEAUTY BLENDER: pure tool - (RRP £16)
  • BY TERRY: cellularose brightening serum - 4ml (RRP £75 for 30ml)
  • CAUDALIE: make-up removing cleansing oil - 30ml (RRP £18 for 100ml)
  • DR LIPP: original nipple balm for lips - 15ml (RRP £12 for 15ml)
  • EVE LOM: cleanser with muslin cloth - 20ml (RRP £40 for 50ml)
  • GOLDFADEN MD: doctor's scrub- 50ml (RRP £65 for 100ml)
  • NUDE: progenius rescue oil - 5ml (RRP £58 for 30ml)
  • NUXE: huile prodigieuse - 10ml (RRP £28 for 100ml)
  • RADICAL SKINCARE: age-defying age-exfoliating pads - 15 pads (RRP £48 for 60 pads)
  • REN: V-cense youth vitality day cream - 15ml (RRP £28 for 50ml)
  • SARAH CHAPMAN: skinesis age-repair serum - 5ml (RRP £48 for 30ml)
  • SUNDAY RILEY: luna sleeping night oil - 7ml (RRP £85 for 30ml)

The pieces that have us most excited are the offerings from Sunday Riley (because who isn't dying to try out Sunday Riley products but just can't justify the hefty price tag?!) and the Beauty Blender (I've never seen the need to splash out on the actual Beauty Blender, I've just made do with any egg-shaped sponge! So I'm excited to compare and see if there really is something special about the Beauty Blender!)

If you ask me this box was an impressively curated cornucopia of skincare beauties that are 'new to us' that we cannot wait to try out! These Space.NK Beauty Boxes are an awesome way of trying out a selection of high-end beauty bits and bobs and discovering some new holy grail products for such a reasonable price! I mean, using just a couple of the sample size products and the Beauty Box has paid for itself!

Alas, the Second Edition of the Space.NK Beauty Box is sadly sold out now but keep an eye out (I know I'll be stalking their their social media!) for the release of their next box!  - either sign up to their newsletter or follow them on their instagram or twitter!

September Favourites

September Favourites

Okay, wow - so where did September go? Seeing as I was away for ten days I'm blaming that for why I think that this past month has gone by so fast!

Honestly September is such a blur for me! The only notable things that happened were that I went on my summer holiday (wooh!), I fell back in love with reading (I'm such a bookworm but I've been slacking on the reading front lately so I'm happy to be back reading again!), as for work I'm still flying through my training - the aim is to get completely signed off by Christmas so then I can go on the scary shift rota (eeep!)!

Now, onto my favourites...

Of course my summer holiday was one of my favourites this month (I promise, this will be the last time I mention it!) - I spent an incredibly relaxing ten days in sunny Tenerife at the luxurious Hotel Vincci Selección La Plantación del Sur - it was exactly what, in my mind, holidays should be - hot weather, a gorgeous pool, plenty of books and a sprinkling of some good shopping! It feels very weird to be chatting about a suncream/after-sun duo in October but I swear by the Hawaiin Tropic brand - I never burn when I use them - which if you take my normal ghostly pallor is a pretty big achievement! Plus they kept my skin super moisturised - exactly what I want after spending 8 hours a day glued to my sun lounger :P

Other beauty products I discovered and subsequently fell in love with this month were the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation - now I swore by the old formulation of this foundation, it has been my holy grail for the last couple of years now, but the shade was only a perfect match for me in the summer - ghostly winter me didn't have a chance of pulling it off! But this new formulation seems to have slightly changed the shades and this is will now see me through the depths of the winter so I'm super excited to be able to carry on loving the flawless coverage but light finish this foundation gives my skin over the next few months! (FYI I'm in the shade Rose Ivory in the Oil Free version). My big purchase this month was a Tom Ford perfume that I splashed out in duty free when we were delayed on the way home from my holiday - so naughty, I know! I couldn't resist the unique woody, verging on masculine scent of Costa Azuzrra and, bonus, the scent actually lasts for a good while too! I wore it the other night when I went out for dinner and when I woke up the next morning I could still smell it - so delicious! Although, I'm already dreading it running out, I'm trying to ration my use of it because it's just so darn pricey!

That beautiful gold polka dot notebook is a Sugar Paper LA one that I picked up from {Nouvelle Daily} - they have some seriously beautiful stationery bits and bobs on there! It almost makes me wish I had a desk job! I have no idea what I'm going to use this notebook for - I think it might be one of those ones that will remain empty and I will just bring it out to stare at every so often because it's too gorgeous to use! Is that just me?....

Out of the twenty books I managed to read whilst I was away (#bookwormprobs - thank goodness for my kindle!) my favourite was A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass. I really wasn't expecting to like this book - I'm feeling ever so slightly over dystopian books as of late but the love story in this just had me hooked! It's such an interesting premise and a completely unique world that she has created. I'd highly recommend giving this book a read if you're looking for something different to escape with! I'm definitely going to check out some more of her books!

Finally my last favourite is the August #mementomysterybox (I received my box in September, hence why it's in this favourites post!). I loved the super selection of products that the lovely ladies at Shop Memento picked and surprised me with! I loved everything but my absolute favourite was this Southern Darlin' tank top - I love the colour, cut and design on the back! I only wish that it was still summer so that I could wear it out of the house!

Phew, I feel like this was a super long favourites post this month! I was evidently loving a lot! I hope that you had a great September and are looking forward to all thing autumn/fall this next month like I am!
