Daily Jewellery...

Daily Jewellery...

Hey everyone

Now, as much as I want to - I really can't get into this statement jewellery trend that's going on right now - whether it be stacking or bubble necklaces. I guess I'm just more of a 'stick to what you know' type of girl - I have a set of jewellery pieces that I wear everyday without fail and rarely deviate

Here are my daily jewellery pieces ...

1 - {Pandora} bracelet with  just a few charms on it; my horse's head, turtle, crown & best friend scroll.
2 & 3 - {dogeared}-esque bracelets; the pearl for wisdom and the circle for karma.
4 - plain silver cuff bangle
5. plain silver ear cuff
6. pearls
7. two rings
8. engraved identity bracelet
9. {Tiffany key} necklace with {swarovski} crystal pendants, one pink and one colourless added.

That looks like a lot but honestly because they're all so small and delicate it doesn't look like crazy amount when they're worn all together

Having said that I'm not one for jewellery trends - I'm always on the look out for some new pieces to add to my daily set - here's what I've been eyeing as of late...

You can't ever go wrong with pearls
Everyone needs a bit of sparkle in their lives

I love this infinity one - I'm big on symbols if you couldn't tell :P

This one is so unusual - I love it!

Very McQueen-esque if you ask me - I think this will be a purchase in the near future!
Anything Tiffany blue gets my vote every time :P

What are your everyday jewellery pieces?

Hey everyone
Here's what I got up to this week...

...I found these lovelies - the only reason I like seeing Easter chocolates in stores in January

... I bought my 'stats for dummies' textbook to get me through my compulsory stats module this semester - I liked it from just reading the contents :P

... I planned some blog posts

...I had snuggles with this little Princess

...I watched this on Saturday night - so good!

...Ma bought me this new bag - isn't it gorgeous?! And an absolute steal at £12

... I got a bit sick of wearing dark colours on my nails so I had a tough time deciding between these pinks

...I spent Friday night watching 'Dollhouse' and writing up lecture notes from the week

...I spent my 4 free hours in the middle of the day at uni studying in the library

...I broke out my fave plaid shirt and RL vest for one of the days at uni

...I thought pickle looked so darn cute lying off the end of my bed waiting for Ma :P

What did you get up to this week?

Happies & Crappies...

Happies & Crappies...

Hey everyone

I saw this linkup over on Amy's {love and hot chocolate} and thought it perfect for helping me to take stock of this crazy week - just what I need! So today I'm linking up with {the vintage modern wife} & {scissors and a whisk} for my...

I managed to get through my first week of spring semester without any major issues or breakdowns

I've narrowed down my choices for next years lab project - so exciting! I cannot believe that I'm going to be in my last year of uni so soon!

I've kept up with my promise to myself that I will revise weekly rather than leaving it all to a couple of weeks  before the exams - mainly because I will be on placement before my next lot of exams so will have no time to revise madly then!

Princess has successfully learnt how to sit on command - at three months I feel that's pretty good (plus she isn't the brightest button on the cardigan if you get what I'm saying - blesh her)

I'm super exhausted after this week - and it wasn't even a full week of uni! I have two 9ams starting this week!

It's snowing. Again. After a week of snow - I'm really rather tired of it now.

Tomorrow is being dedicated to writing the assessment I have due in on Monday - we've only been back at uni a week but apparently we've learnt enough to be assessed on.

My laptop is dying. Like literally it cannot be unplugged from the mains otherwise it will just die. Le sigh.

I think I'm developing a cold or flu or something - at any rate I don't feel 100%

I have to have a blood test next week to confirm immunisation for my placement and I'm already getting worked up over it :(

Boo for my crappies list being longer that my happies one :(
I will have to try to rectify this for next week!

TV Time...

TV Time...

Hey everyone

Seeing as my semester 1 exams have finished last week (woop woop) I now feel that it's acceptable to get completely sucked in to watching TV shows again - yay!

Is it just me who gets addicted to TV shows - as in I end up watching all episodes ever made back to back #sorryimnotsorry

So I thought I'd share the TV shows that are on my 'to watch' list...

I've just started watching this (probs late on the bandwagon but heyho) - I watched the first episode just on a whim basically becasue the description wasn't very clear so I wanted to see what it is all about - ohmigosh it's awesome! It's about taking individuals personality away from them and giving them a pre-designed personality and sending them out on mission-type thingies - I'm explaining this horrendously but honestly it's an really interesting show, very thought provoking - it's right up my street because I love anything medically/scientifically ground-breaking and future possibilities.

Have you watched Dollhouse?

I'm crazy late on the bandwagon on this one but I feel like because it's such a cult fave I should watch it. I'm on episode three and to be honest I'm not really loving it - it's just not very engaging at the moment. I shall keep persevering thought.

Is it just me the doesn't like Desperate Housewives?

Everyone and there mother is re-watching GG at the moment and I'm no exception :)

This looks super interesting - I usually hate superhero movies/TV shows (with the exception of Disneys The Incredibles) but this one sounds alright - it's the classic 'normal people who have superpowers such a shock' thing.

Ever watched this? What did you think?

Yet another classic TV show that I've never watched (pause for gasps of horror) and now that I've watched the 7 series of Grey's Anatomy available on LOVEFiLM I need another medical show to fill that void :P

Are you a Scrubs fan?

*Honourary Mention*

I received the 2nd and 3rd series of TVD for Christmas and I'm absolutely hooked! I love love love this show! I honestly put off watching the last episode of the third series for a few days because I didn't want to run out of episodes! I literally cannot wait until the fifth series comes out on DVD because I just missed it when it was aired on TV and I refuse to watch things illegally online - no thank you #immoral.

Are you a TVD fan? Team Damon or Team Stefan?

What TV shows are you loving at the moment? Do you have any suggestions that I should add to me 'to watch' list?

Hey everyone

This week I...

...got new mugs - how cute are they?!

...found out that my puppy loves the pompoms on my dressing gown

...finally figured out {pinterest} - and subsequently am now slightly addicted

...stocked up on diet coke just in case the snow hit really bad
#priorities #addicted

...bought Princess a new coat - how cute?!

...revised for my my final final exams with the help of diet coke and Mr chocolate Santa's head

...woke up to snow on the ground

...was excited about the snow for approx. half an hour

...took some pretty pictures of the garden in the snow

...watched Princess have her first experience of snow - it was hilarious!

...played out in the snow with Princess seeing as she was too excited to even think about going inside without running around the whole of the garden

...{tweeted} excessively (so apologies if you follow me!) about the snow and how it affected me getting to uni for my final final exam

What did you do this week?

Top Five Tuesday: Must Have Lip Products....

Top Five Tuesday: Must Have Lip Products....

Hey everyone

I'm linking up Rachel from Just Peachy today - sharing my must have lip products :)

{thanks google for the images}

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (blimey - what a mouthful!) - I love everything about these - their colour pay-off, their staying power, their moisturising-ness#lovesthem. I wear 'Honey' practically every day - such a beautifully wearable colour and then I have 'Rendevouz' and 'Lovesick' to wear when I feel a little bolder :P

MAC 'Myself' Lipstick - this was the first 'proper' lipstick I ever bought (confession: I bought the first then came home and did some googling only to find it was discontinued so I went back to and bought another one the next week just so I had one 'spare'! #sorryimnotsorry)
It's the perfect nude colour for me with just the teensiest bit shimmer - so no need for gloss #win!

Benefit Tints - I'm not really a lipstick fan because of the whole wearing off throughout the day thing they tend to do so stains are definitely the way forward for me. I have posie tint and chacha tint and I love them - I use them most of the time when I go out because I can just throw them on and then I can forget about them because they just don't budge! I do have to put Vaseline over the top of them though because I find them a tad drying :S

Lush 'Mint Juleps' Lip Scrub - This is my absolute saviour when my lips are chapped - it sorts them out so quickly! Plus it tastes amazing!

EOS Lip Balm - I adore these lip balms - they are definitely the most moisturising ones I've found - they last on my lips for so long and make them feel really protected - a must in this harsh winter the UK is experiencing right now! My fave is 'honeydew honeysuckle'.

What are your must have lip products?

First Day of Classes - Spring Semester 2013...

First Day of Classes - Spring Semester 2013...

Hey everyone

So today is my first day of classes of the Spring semester. Today I'll be enduring enjoying four hours of lectures, 2-4pm

I am definitely not ready for Christmas break to be over already :(

However, to cure my going-back blues I will be dressing in one of my fave outfits...
plaid shirt, skinny jeans, riding boots, quilted vest, Barbour jacket, longchamp

Sadly this semester is gonna be a busy one - I've got my placement to get ready for, I have 5 modules to study for and I'm gonna have to revise for my exams as I go along seeing as my Easter break will be taken up with my placement - I can't believe I'm having to think this far ahead! It's crazy!

So the inspiration for this semester is....

Here's to a great Spring semester :)

How's your semester going?

Book Club Friday: Looking For Alaska...

Book Club Friday: Looking For Alaska...

Hey everyone

I am so happy to be linking up with Blonde...Undercover Blonde for this link up again this week! I've missed a couple of weeks because I've really not had time to read (I know, I know - I should make time!) due to the craziness of starting back to uni and getting back into the swing of actually studying after having the summer off :P

This week I'm sharing - Looking For Alaska by John Green

Synopsis (via Goodreads
Miles has a quirky interest in famous people's last words, especially Fran├žois Rabelais's final statement, "I go to seek a Great Perhaps." Determined not to wait for death to begin a similar quest, Miles convinces his parents to let him leave home. Once settled at Culver Creek Preparatory School, he befriends a couple of equally gifted outcasts: his roommate Chip―commonly known as the Colonel—who has a predilection for memorizing long, alphabetical lists for fun; and the beautiful and unpredictable Alaska, whom Miles comes to adore.

The kids grow closer as they make their way through a school year filled with contraband, tests, pranks, breakups, and revelations about family and life. But as the story hurtles toward its shattering climax, chapter headings like "forty-six days before" and "the last day" portend a tragic event―one that will change Miles forever and lead him to new conclusions about the value of his cherished "Great Perhaps.

My Thoughts

Now I've seen the famous "If people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane" floating around tumblr for ages and absolutely fell in love with it - the length of the phrase, the rhyme, the metaphor, the message - everything. And eventually I googled the quote and found it was from a book - 'Looking For Alaska'. So I made a mental note to pick it up when I next saw it - turns out about a week later I was in a cheap stationery shop in town and saw it  in a 3 for £5 deal so I had to get it! I think that was way back at the start of the summer and I tried a few times to pick it up and start it but I literally couldn't get past the first few pages (as in I didn't even hit 20 pages) and this is completely unheard of for me so I just put it back on my bookshelf and ignored it for a while.

Until - this weekend I was looking for a book to read as a revision break and I remembered this one so I picked it back up and forced myself to keep at it. Honestly I don't know why I didn't do this before - past the first 50 pages it gets amazing! I read this book in two days - and only that long because I forced myself to put it down and get some sleep before my exam!

I love how this book is interpretable to your own personal thoughts and outlook on life. The characters are so engaging and identifiable with. The plot definitely kept me reading - I think this may be because it was a little slow and vague (but in a good way!) but I just had to find out what happened.

The only disappointing thing about this book was the ending - I found the explanation of the big shock of the plot primarily a little predictable but the ending itself I found quite unsatisfying - I thought it ended pretty quickly without all the loose ends being tied up. Having said that though - it obviously makes the book a great read seeing as I wanted to know more about the character and the plot!

All in all I can definitely see why this book is such a cult fave - it's just so quotable! And it really makes you think about life in general - well it did me anyway!

I am definitely going to check out other John Green books :)

Seeing as I'm pretty late on the bandwagon on this one I'm not going to ask have you read it - instead, did you enjoy it?

It's Snowing: Outfits...

It's Snowing: Outfits...

Hey everyone

Seeing as it has been snowing for most of the evening tonight we're expected to get up to 10 inches of snow tomorrow (well that's what the journalists are reporting so I'm expecting a whole lot less than that!) I've been thinking about outfits appropriate for the snowy weather - I always find dressing for the snow a struggle because it's always so cold outside but boiling when you go inside!

Anways, I thought it'd be fun if I shared some of my snow day outfits with you all  - with my formula of ^^

jacket, tank top (layering is key!), hoodie, leggings, thick socks, beanie, fingerless gloves, duck boots

I will probably be wearing a variation of this outfit to my exam tomorrow (wish me luck?!) - albeit it's not the most stylish outfit in the world but for an exam or having a snowball fight it does the job nicely :)

plaid shirt, jeans, arm warmers, infinity scarf, jacket, wellies

This is another super easy outfit - but I do think this plaid shirt and jeans make it look a tad more put together than leggings and a hoodie whilst still being really comfy :)

leggings, infinity scarf, ugg boots, hoodie, fingerless gloves, tank top, beanie

I love wearing bright coloured hoodies in the dreary weather - it just cheers me up immensely!
tee, pearls, wellies, jeans, infinity scarf, leather jacket

I had to include an outfit with these amazing duo chrome hunters - aren't they beautiful?! Seeing as this outfit isn't really very warm I'd probably wear this going out to lunch with the girls or to a shopping centre or something - cute and still snow appropriate:)

pjs, slippers, fuzzy socks, blankie, popcorn

This is my personal favourite - and probably the way I would spend every snowy day if given the choice :P

What's your typical snow day attire?

P.S. this is my first real outfit planning post (I blame pinterest - I've got the bug!) and I was wondering if you liked these types of posts? I'd love to do some more if you think that'd be fun to read?

MWIP 3/52...

MWIP 3/52...

Hey everyone

This week I...

...fell in love with the hedgehogs on the feet of my new onesie

...got confused as to what my extreme shorthand notes from a lecture meant

Side note: for those interest it was the coagulation pathway #biomedprobs :P

...bought myself a new tumbler from TK Maxx  - I'm obsessed with tumblers; I just can't pass them up!

Side note: I may or may not have bought this because it reminded me of a tumbler that my goddaughter has that I always think is so cool because the straw pops up like this one does #itsthelittlethings My goddaughter isn't even two yet so I'm unsure as to what this says about me but heyho #sorryimnotsorry

...couldn't stop laughing when I saw Princess in her new Pack-a-Yap (like pac-a-mac! I thought this was hilarious!)

...wore my bobble hat inside because I was freezing when I was revising because I choose to revise in the coldest part of my house because it makes me concentrate more

...couldn't resist snapping this picture before Princess went for a walk in the rain - so cute!

...finally managed to memorise the coagulation pathway #yayme

...laughed when my iPod played two versions of the same song back to back whilst on shuffle

...finally read 'Looking for Alaska' after seeing this quotation literally all over tumblr - loved it!

...broke out these beauties for the first time to deal with the snow (questionable) this week :) In my mind they remind me of bean boots and seeing as I can't find bean boots in the UK these will do nicely :)

If anyone has any thoughts on how to style these (or bean boots) then please let me know :) I'm struggling for inspiration :S

...planned two outfits for my exam on Monday seeing as the weather-people were saying that it was going to snow but to varying degrees so I decided to cover the possible weather variants :)

I hope y'all had a great week :)
