London Recap...

Hey everyone

I can't believe that it has been a week since I went to London with Ma for a city break to see {Mcfly at the RAH} and do some shopping - it has gone so fast!

In honour of the fact that I am missing the city dreadfully and have been wishing I was back there all week, I thought I would write this recap post....

On Thursday morning we were raring to go so we got all packed and ready super early!

Like mother like daughter - we both had Pellegrino as our drink!

We got to London in the late afternoon and arrived at the perfect time to check in to our hotel - we stayed in the Lancaster Gate area of London so it was still central but quite quiet - I love that area!

Our room was exactly what we needed for the two nights we were there - comfortable, clean and practical - I would definitely stay there again

Once we had settled in to our room we really only just had time to pop in to Harrods to buy some nibbles for dinner - I had the most amazing beef tomato, mozzarella pesto sandwich! Plus even the sausage rolls had H's on them - Harrods has the cutest branding ever! We were a little naughty and had some amazing chocolate bark for pudding - so good!

On Thursday evening we went to see Mcfly play at the Royal Albert Hall (the reason we went down to London!) - they were absolutely stunning! (you can read my full ramble about that experience {here}!)

We spent Friday doing some serious shopping - we went to Oxford Street, New Bond Street & Covent Garden - I have to say that Covent Garden was my fave - it's just relaxing and cute!

Yep - I definitely made some purchases but I love them all!

One of my favourite parts of Covent Garden was visiting the Laudree shop - Ma has been raving about macaroons for years (ever since she went to Monaco) but I have only fell in love with them since I tried the Laudree ones back in June - now I'm a massive fan!

Whilst in Covent Garden I insisted that we had lunch at Shake Shack - it did not disappoint! You can read my lyrical waxings over this amazing experience {here} - though, be warned it may make you very hungry!

After Covent Garden we headed to Liberty's - Ma and I have never been here so it was great to find a new place to shop! The outside of Liberty's is a flower stall/shop and it looked (and smelled) lovely!

That evening Ma decided that I needed to experience China Town and we had such a blast!
The atmosphere there is awesome!

Our dinner was the tastiest Chinese I've ever had - it was delicious!

Essentially right next to china town is the Queen's Theatre where Les Mis is running - it was so nice to see it to make up for us not being able to go to see the show itself - we'll just have to make another trip for that :P

On Saturday morning we decided to head to Fortnum & Mason's - it is the most darling shop ever! The topiary on the outside is shaped like a tea party - so quaint! It's sort of a quieter and less touristy version of Harrods - so luxurious but all the staff were really welcoming and friendly - we are definitely going to make pick a visit here over Harrods next time we go to the city!

All the decor is just so perfect and regal - apparently the Queen took Kate here on a shopping trip not too long ago! To be honest I can see why! Mind you the staff seemed to treat everyone like royalty they were that obliging, gracious, helpful and friendly!

Of course we couldn't leave without making some last minute purchase - we bought Little Prin some biscuits, some English Breakfast Tea (because that's my absolute favourite!) and some dark chocolate covered pink marshmallows (they were seriously yummy!)

After that quick pit-stop to Fortnum's we went and caught the train home - and once we got back we settled down to finish our macaroons with a cup of tea and re-live the whole trip!

I had such an amazing time in London with Ma :)

What's on your list of things you must do in London?

aHm xoxo

  3. Ahh looks fabulous! I live in the U.S. but I was in London over the summer. I live about two hours away from Chicago so that's kind of like my "London" over here. :)
