Skincare Routine...

Hey everyone

Previously I've never really been interested in skincare
#oops #badbelle

But - thankfully, that has all changed - so I thought I would share my *new* (and actually do-able!) skincare routine...

I've realised that I'm all about simplicity when it comes to skincare - if it's complicated then I 'm not going to keep up with it and I will revert back to my old ways of the miracle that is facial wipes :P

In my mind there are 3 steps to my skincare routine -

Now, I'm most definitely not a morning person (massive understatement!) so my morning skincare routine has to be quick and simple - something that I can do easily whilst I'm still half asleep :P

First step - facial cleansing wipe - I haven't been able to cut them out of my routine completely :P - to freshen up my skin, my faves are the cucumber ones from Boots (I'm a massive fan of anything cucumber scented and cooling for my skin).

I then use the Clarins {Daily Energiser Wake Up Booster}, I just splash a bit onto a cotton pad and run it all over my face- apparently this is a 'gel moisturiser' - to me it's just a thick-ish liquid but it makes my skin feel amazing! The green coffee in it really wakes up my skin (after even the latest of nights!) and the red current smell is so refreshing!

After that I use the Clarins {Daily Energiser Cream} - again this has the same green coffee and red current goodness but this time in a moisturiser form - I just use a thumbnail sized amount and smooth it all over my face. I love this because it's really light and sinks in super quick but still leaves my face feeling moisturised :)
side note: I had a sample of the cream-gel version of this and meant to repurchase that but accidentally bought this one instead - while I like this one, I think I will get the cream-gel formulation next time!

The Clarins {Daily Energiser} range is specifically targeted and formulated for radiance and energy - perfect for younger skin - I highly recommend the whole range :)

Make Up Removal:

At the end of the day is my first port of call is taking off my make up (like as in as soon as I get in the house my make up gets taken off!) and for this I use a combination of two products.

After all of the hype I had seen surrounding {Bioderma} I just knew that I had to try it - I tend to use the micelle water on a cotton pad, place it on my eye area and leave it to soak for about a minute (maximum!) and it removes all of my eye makeup - which it is marvellous for - it removes even my 'They're Real' mascara super easily without me needed to rub at my eyes!
Now, some people do use Bioderma to remove all of their face makeup too but I've found that it tends to break me out if I do that so I just stick to using it for my eyes.
side note: here's a {link} where you can get Bioderma from amazon in the US - I know it's super hard to get hold of!

I've been using the Clinique {Take The Day Of Makeup Remover} for years and it does a great job of removing all of my eye makeup - although now I use Bioderma as well, I just use the Clinique on a cotton swap to remove stubborn eye liner that Bioderma just can't seem to get off.

After make up removal comes cleansing - for this I use the Philosophy {purity cleanser} - I absolutely swear by this stuff - it's incredible, it dissolves away my face makeup, cleanses, tones and hydrates my skin all in one - that's what I call a multi-tasking product - right up my street! I massage the cleanser into my skin for about 30 seconds and then wash it off with warm water.

About twice a week I use the Philosophy {microdeliverly exfoliating facial wash} - you can use this stuff daily but I find it a little bit harsh if I do that do I just use it twice a week, this is great - a really easy and relatively gentle exfoliator that just gets the job done - nothing complicated which I love!

After that cleansing/exfoliating step I use a plain cucumber moisturiser from Boots - really cheap and cheerful but great for my sensitive skin - my skin tends to freak out at too much moisturiser so I don't like to spend a lot of money of a night cream - this one does the job and smells pretty nice :)

Last thing before bed I apply my eos lipbalm - my fave flavour is the Honeysuckle Honeydew one! and about once a week I use the Lush {Mint Julips Lip Scrub} because I have a serious phobia of dry skin on my lips - not pleasant!

So there it is - my skincare routine - I hope you found this useful or saw a product or two that you'd like to give a whirl!

Let me know what your favourite skincare products are - I'm always on the look out to try new products!

aHm xoxo
